Whitelist Instructions for ProjectConnections Emails

These days, nearly everyone is running some kind of software or service to filter out unwanted emails. If you're one of the many people using a spam filter of some sort, you might find that ProjectConnections emails don't get through. Sometimes our mailings bounce back with challenge/response messages, or just get swallowed by the receiving mail server, never to be seen again.

We do what we can to keep up with it (which is difficult given the size of our list), but you can guarantee ProjectConnections emails get through by taking a moment to whitelist projectconnections.com. Remember, you can always change your mind and undo it later (though of course we hope you won't want to!). Here are two ways that you can ensure our emails can reach you:

• If you're using filtering software or a filtering service, add our domain to your safe senders list. For detailed instructions for various services, click here.
• If you're using a web-email client for your ProjectConnections communication, just add us to your address book.

Email Addresses You May Want to Add to Your Address Book

Here are the email addresses you might see us use:

Newsletters (if you are opted in): newsletter@projectconnections.com
Frequency: about every 2 weeks.
See a recent sample.
AOL 9.0 users, send a blank email to add this address to your People I Know list.

Vendor Offers (if you are opted in): info@projectconnections.com.
Frequency: occasional (never more than once a week).
See a recent sample.
AOL 9.0 users, send a blank email to add this address to your People I Know list.

Customer Support replies and system emails: customersupport@projectconnections.com, or possibly directly from someone on staff.
AOL 9.0 users, send a blank email to add this address to your People I Know list.

Password Resets and other automatic emails: customerservice@projectconnections.com.
AOL 9.0 users, send a blank email to add this address to your People I Know list.

Detailed Instructions for Adding Us to Your Address Book

AOL
To add ProjectConnections to your allowed senders list:

1. Go to keyword: Mail Controls.
2. Select the screen name we're sending your ProjectConnections emails to.
3. Click Customize Mail Controls For This Screen Name.

Version 9.0
Add our email addresses (listed above) to your People I Know list. To make this easier, we've provided links to allow you to just click and send a blank email address to each address you want to add; even if it doesn't get to us, sending the email will add our address to your "People I Know" list, and that's what counts.

Version 8.0
Make sure one of the "Allow email from ... domains" options is selected, and add projectconnections.com to your allowed senders list.

Version 7.0 and earlier
In the section for "exclusion and inclusion parameters", include projectconnections.com.

Gmail
To add ProjectConnections to your contacts list:

1. Click Contacts on the left side of the screen.
2. Click Create Contact.
3. Type: projectconnections.com in the Name: field and click Save.

If you see a message that should not be in your Spam folder, select it and click the 'Not Spam' button to teach Gmail not to throw away emails from that sender.

Hotmail
To add ProjectConnections to your Safe List:

1. Click Contacts on the main menu tabs
2. Click Safe List on the left
3. Type: projectconnections.com in the text field and click the Add button.

If you see a message that should not be in your Junk Mail folder, select it and click 'This is not Junk Mail' to teach Hotmail not to throw away emails from that sender.

Yahoo! Mail
This looks more complicated than it is; bear with us.

1. Click the main Mail tab, then click Options.
2. Click Filters.
3. Click Add Filter.
4. In the top row, labeled "From header:" make sure Contains is selected in the pull-down menu. Click in the text box next to that pull-down menu, then type projectconnections.com. At the bottom, where it says "Move the Message To:" select Inbox from the pull-down menu.
5. Click the Add Filter button again.

If a ProjectConnections email has been filtered to your "bulk" folder, simply open the message and click on the "This is not Spam" link next to the "From" field.

Adding ProjectConnections to Your Whitelist

Please refer to the following whitelisting instructions you can use to whitelist ProjectConnections, depending on the filtering solution you use. If your filtering solution isn't listed here, consult your documentation.

CleanMyMailbox:

1. Click on the White List button.
2. Add projectconnections.com to the bottom of your existing list.
3. Click the Submit List button.

If you find ProjectConnections email is filtered to your spambox, click on the white "W" icon on the left column of the mailing. When the pop-up window comes up, simply click the Add to Whitelist button.

Cloudmark SpamNet:

1. Select Tools > Options... Cloudmark Desktop|Safety Bar in Outlook.
2. Click Advanced.
3. Go to the White-list tab.
4. Click the Add button and add projectconnections.com to your white list.
5. Click OK.

If an email you want to receive is filtered to your Spam Folder, simply select it and click Unblock to teach SpamNet not to throw away emails from that sender. If Cloudmark continues to throw away the newsletter, highlight it and click Unblock twice.

MailWasher:

1. Click Tools, then Blacklist & Friends.
2. Click Add... on the Friends list side.
3. Type: *@projectconnections.com
4. Click OK.

McAfee Spamkiller:

1. Click Friends from the sidebar.
2. Click Add.
3. Type: projectconnections.com
4. Click OK.

SpamAssassin:
Add the following entry to your user_prefs file, which is found in the /.spamassassin subdirectory on your server:

whitelist_from_rcvd *@projectconnections.com

Save the user_prefs file or move the updated copy to your .spamassassin subdirectory.

SpamButcher:

1. Click the Configure button.
2. Click the Known Senders tab.
3. Click Add under 'Known Good Senders and Recipients'
4. Type: projectconnections.com
5. Click OK.

Spameater Pro:

1. Click Filters from the sidebar.
2. Click the Approved Senders tab.
3. Click Add Filter.
4. Type: projectconnections.com under Address.
5. Choose 'Full Email Address' under Address Type.
6. Select Email Domain.
7. Click OK.

Spam Interceptor:

1. Click Authentication Lists, then Trusted.
2. Enter the email address: *@projectconnections.com
3. Click Add.

SpamPal:

1. Click on the SpamPal system tray icon with the right mouse button.
2. Click 'Add to Whitelist' from the menu.
3. Type: *@projectconnections.com
4. Click OK.

Spam Sleuth:

1. Select File, then Configure.
2. Go to the Friends category.
3. Make sure Active is checked.
4. Type: *@projectconnections.com on a line by itself in the entry field.
5. Click OK.

Other providers:
If ProjectConnections email is being filtered, try adding projectconnections.com to your Address Book, Contact list, or Safe Senders list. If this option is not available, try moving the message to your 'inbox' or forwarding the message to yourself.

If subsequent messages continue to be filtered, call or e-mail your ISP's technical support and ask how you can be sure to receive all e-mail from projectconnections.com.
